vacationing or travelling and its what we provide to all our guests
at The Lionstone Inn, as well as top notch customer service and free
Wi-Fi. Nine of our rooms are now air conditioned during the
summer for your comfort.
We are located on a three acre, well maintained property
in the beautiful town of Pictou. We are the closest motel to
the PEI Ferry (only 5 minutes from the PEI ferry terminal), minutes to New Glasgow and a
short walk to the deCoste Centre. For sports teams looking for
an inexpensive alternative to the hotels in New Glasgow, we are only
15 minutes from the new
Pictou County Wellness Centre.
All of our rooms and cottages are smoke-free, (guests are free to smoke outside and ashtrays
and benches are provided for this purpose) and all are equipped with bar
fridges, cable televisions, full baths and all have microwaves.
There are 15
motel rooms, including 2 suites (the largest motel rooms in Pictou) and 6 rooms with kitchenettes.
One of these is a 600 square foot two bedroom deluxe barrier-free
suite, complete with a full living-room and kitchen, for those with special requirements or for those looking for
something really special.
During the summer months, we
also have 13 cottages with private baths and a few with kitchens or
kitchenettes. These units are ideal for those seeking economy
lodging. Some of our cottages are two bedroom units, and can
accommodate as many as five guests.
We are conveniently located
within walking distance to all
amenities/attractions, including the historic downtown Pictou and Hector Heritage Quay, the Pictou
Legion is at our back door, genealogy research around the corner, a
grocery store, a liquor store and a drugstore are all adjacent to
the property, as well as Tim Horton's imagine--you can walk to Tim
Horton's in the morning for your coffee! Again, we are the
closest motel to the PEI ferry and a great choice for those looking
for very affordable and clean accommodations near New Glasgow, yet
in the beautiful historic setting of Pictou.

Our name is representative of a 100 year old carved
stone lion sculpture on the property, which was carved by
John Wilson--who carved many sculptures and
monuments throughout Canada & the US. He went on to become a
professor at Harvard University.
